LARNE FOODBANK

Active in the Community

Churches, too often, are accused of being remote from, and irrelevant to, their local community. Many Larne churches felt the need to be active in the community. Hence, local churches have co-operated in establishing the Larne Foodbank.

We aim to provide food for those in crisis e.g. the homeless, the unemployed, and those in serious debt problems. Food for three days will help to alleviate the situation until a longer-term solution may be found.

Social Services, the Simon Community, local clergy, etc. will provide people in need with a voucher which can be exchanged for food at Craigyhill Methodist Church.

We appreciate the support we have had and pray that this may continue. We plan to demonstrate the love of Jesus in a practical way.
