Carnlough Fellowship Group
Carnlough Fellowship Group meets every Wednesday at 10:am in the Methodist Church and draws folk from Larne Methodist Church, Ardclinis Parish Church, St John’s Roman Catholic Church as well as our local Methodist congregation.
The session always starts with an ice breaker to get us all talking – and, usually, laughing! This sometimes consists of sharing memories. These are always fascinating, varied and crying out to be recorded permanently. At other times, the competitive instincts of the group are given free reign, with lively results! Occasionally, we have an opportunity to be creative with card-making sessions under the expert guidance of Beryl Stevenson.

Well and truly relaxed, we move into a time of sharing together the needs of people and situations on our hearts, followed by intercessory prayer. We commit ourselves to continue to pray for those on our list through the week.
A time of Bible study follows. We are currently reading through the Gospel of St Matthew. This is a time of sharing what speaks to each of us in the passage and trying to see how it relates to our everyday living.
The session ends with tea and chat – chats which can last till near enough lunch time.
From time to time, an outing to the cinema is arranged or lunch in the Londonderry Arms and we have had one or two special speakers. Twice a year, we arrange a collection and delivery of warm clothes, toiletries and food for Embrace on the Street, an organisation which supports homeless people and asylum seekers in the Province. We also contribute to the Food Bank.
Newcomers are always welcome.
